I am average
Alright, so it has been a while. We shall see if any of you still check this thing after a week and a half off.
First, Congrats Sunny............. It is from sesame street however it is not elmo. It is these pigs in boas. La la It was a good try and you were on the right track but sunny one up'd you.
After a week off i am not sure whether to blog it all or save some stuff for another time. Get back onto it slow i guess hey?
Well, In that case, i will tell you a little about my Grouse Grind experience. As some guy behind me said......" they don't call it the grind for nothing" For those of you that know me, you know that i moan and complain up any hill, mostly on rollerblades but still. this is hiking. Last time i went hiking i ended up with a fractured elbow. Not fun. Especially when you have friends who can't even do a pony tail for you (mel)
My first few steps started off strong. i was in high spirits, excited for this new challenge. Well that lasted all of about 20 steps. My partner in crime for this hike was many steps ahead of me, urging me to hurry up. "NOT HELPING!" about an 8th of the way up i had had it. I was "over it" ready to walk down and wait until my friend finished up. How i ended up continuing to put on foot in front of the other is beyond me. I ditched the pink back pack. Which was helpful when looking up to find where my friend was.
My first quarter mile took about 1/2 hr. not good. the second was at 15 min. Goooooooooooo Heath!!!!!! In the end i learned the following:
-Despite my first mile i did end up as an " average hiker"
-Don't hike with someone who is not willing to wait for you a bit. or feels he could jog it. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN FOR ME!! I will give him credit. he probably could have done it in about an hour if it were not for me.
-bring 5 bucks unless you want to walk down.
Two days later me legs still don't hurt. Maybe that whole slow and steady thing really works.

My thoughts................. I won't be climbing them.
